Help with my Hamilton watch serial number please?

My grandpa recently died, and one of his posessions that i got was his Hamilton pocket watch. It was a model number 992B and the serial number is OE-9671. I have looked online and i can only find serial numbers for this watch that have the letter C in front of it. I know the watch was only made between 1940 and 1970 I was hoping to find out when this one was made. Another note is that he worked at the Hamilton watch company at some point so im not sure if that makes a difference.
Heh i actually figured it out thanks and it turns out it was from between 1942 and 1943!

That definitely isn’t a 992B serial number, nor any other Hamilton serial number.

The serial number on the 992B is located in one location only-on the main plate in the gap between the balance bridge and barrel bridge.

Here’s a photo with the serial number location circled

As you said, all 992B serial numbers start with “C”.
